Fibre Optic OTDR Launch Cable Box, Multimode
An OTDR launch cable, which connects the OTDR to the link-under-test, discloses the insertion loss and reflectance of the near-end connection. It is used to create the proper conditions for testing another similar optical fibre for faults. This method avoids undesirable variations in loss and distance measurements. A launch fibre will help to overcome the blind spot or Dead Zone of an OTDR brought about by high launch power or faults near the launch end of the fibre.
Yellow Type – OTDR Launch Box
They are designed to aid in testing fibre optic cable using an OTDR. The OTDR Launch Fibre box is used with Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) to help minimize the effects of the OTDR’s launch pulse on measurement uncertainty. Available in many different configurations and fibre lengths.
Features:
- Pulse Suppressor, Launch Box, Delay Line, Installation/Testing, Training, Calibration;
- Compound Latch for the positive seal and easy opening with the locking feature;
- Non-metal construction will not dent, corrode, or conduct electricity;
- Water and dustproof allowing the unit to be taken into almost any environment;
- The case can house up to 2,000 meters of fibre;
- Auto Purge Valve for changes in altitude and temperature.
