Self-supporting fibre optic cable

Our ultra-light weight fibre optical drop cables have been designed for aerial installations into the fibre access network and are PIA approved.

They can be deployed between telecom and/or power poles. This enables fast deployment of infrastructure facilitating FTTx to rural and difficult to reach areas. 

These 4,12,36 and 48 core ultra-lightweight PIA fibre cables can be used alongside 11kV power cables.

The cable has been specially designed to ensure very good protection of fibres and ease of installation. The G.657A2 fibres allow for very small bending diameter (even 7.5 mm). The cable is intended for aerial installations and for use in primary and secondary telecommunication ducts. It can be deployed using pneumatic or mechanical methods.

The OPT stripper has a profiled cassette that slits the sheath on a 4/12f overhead drop cable

  • Each cassette contains a single rotatory blade which is located on the handle mechanism, as a pair the blades are diametrically opposite each other
  • These blades cut through the outer sheath to expose the cable element, ideally using the yellow stripe(s) as a guide to prevent the blades coming into contact with the strength members
  • A profiled roller is located either side of the rotary blade to ensure the internal cable element is not damaged during the stripping operation
  • The handle locking mechanism ensures the stripper remains closed during the sheath stripping operation
  • A wrist strap and user instructions are supplied with each stripper

AirFlow is a universal (outdoor and indoor use), round and self-supporting fibre cable for FTTx systems, strengthened by aramid fibre (supporting element in aerial installations). The light construction with small diameter (3.5.mm), high flexibility and high tensile strength enables installers to build suspended lines with spans up to 80 m.

The cable has been specially designed to ensure very good protection of fibres and ease of installation. The G.657A2 fibre allows for very small bending diameter (down to 7.5mm). The cable is intended for aerial installations and for use in primary and secondary ducts. It can be deployed using pneumatic or mechanical methods.

The cable (1000 m) is wound on a rotary spool located in a cardboard box, from which it can be easily pulled out. The price is given for 1 meter.
